Special to Iredell Free News

Masons from Iredell and surrounding counties will host the 31st Annual Masonic Community Blood Drive on Friday, January 10, at nine convenient collection sites.

Last year’s one-day drive collected 504 pints of blood. On average, our local American Red Cross region collects 350 pints of blood a day.

According to the American Red Cross, last year’s effort likely saved or sustained over 1,500 lives in our local community.

This year’s collection goal has been set at 525 pints.

All presenting blood donors will receive a commemorative Masonic Community Blood Drive T-shirt, fresh-baked cookies and snacks as well as a chance to win an RTIC hard shell cooler. All those who choose to donate Power Red Blood Cells will have two chances to win the cooler.
