Mooresville has something for everyone this month to gear up for the holiday season!

Here are some of the big events:

♦ Stop by the annual free Holiday Light Show each evening through December 31. The awesome spectacular features 150,000 lights set to music. This community favorite too special to miss is on the lawn at Town Hall at 413 N. Main Street.

♦ The downtown “Mistletoe Sip & Shop” on Friday, December 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit Mooresville’s unique small businesses, who will be offering open house activities, light appetizers, store specials and more. In addition, there will be a life-sized snow globe, a strolling barbershop quartet, and carolers. Bring your favorite people and enjoy kicking off the holiday season along Main and Broad Streets.

♦ Enjoy a Classic Christmas in Mooresville on Friday, December 13, and Friday, December 20, with a visit from Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides, a life-sized snow globe, Victorian carolers, ice skating, petting zoo, unique shopping and dining, hot cocoa, popcorn, cotton candy, s’mores, crafts, and more! Wagons load & unload at the Mooresville Christian Mission (266 N. Broad Street). A donation of non-perishable food items or cash is suggested. Santa will be in JF Moore Park at the corner of Main St & Center Ave., along with traditionally lighted Christmas Trees. Ice skating, petting zoo, s’mores, hot chocolate, and crafts will be found off of Center Avenue near 132 E. Center Ave. The life-sized snow globe will be on Moore Avenue near Main Street. Popcorn, cotton candy, 3D glasses , and many other treats will be found along Main & Broad St., Center & Moore Ave. All events take place from 6 to 8 p.m. except for ice skating, which will be from 5 to 9 p.m.

Fees: Ice Skating: $5 per person (4 & under free); S’mores Kit: $1 per kit; Hot Chocolate $2

♦ On Friday, December 13, join in the fun at the Children’s Holiday Party at the Charles Mack Citizen Center. Enjoy a free professional photo with Santa Claus, arts & crafts, and complimentary Chic-Fil-A from 12 to 2:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Charles Mack Citizens Center. ♦ Also on December 13 will be a music and comedy Fundraiser at Richard’s Coffee Shop (165 North Main Street) on Main Street in Downtown Mooresville. Starting at 6 p.m., Kayla Vega will be in the spotlight singing hit songs from the 1950’s to the present. Kayla will be raising money for The Officer Jordan H. Sheldon Memorial Scholarship. Starting at 8 p.m., the popular and very funny comedian Paul Corrigan will have the audience in stitches with his comedy routine. Paul will be raising money for the veterans at Richard’s Coffee Shop. Also stop by Richard’s every Saturday morning all year to enjoy a weekly music jam starting at 9 a.m.

♦ On Saturday, December 14, kids will enjoy the Cookies with Santa event benefiting the Food for Days Backpack Ministry from 10 a.m. to noon at On the Nines (205 Golf Course Drive) at the Mooresville Golf Club. Enjoy a hot cocoa bar, cookies, and have your child’s picture taken with Santa. As admission, organizers are asking attendees to bring a monetary or food donation (need for fruit cups, Pop Tarts, and ramen noodles) for the Food for Days Pantry. ♦ On January 1, get the new year started off the right way and join Charlotte Running Company – Mooresville (146 Mooresville Commons Way) for a free New Year’s Day Commitment Run at 9 a.m.. Enjoy a 1, 3 or 5 mile run/walk to start 2020 and then have free breakfast, mimosas, and coffee sponsored by the club. Raffle prizes will also be awarded. Club partners will be on site for massage and recovery. The event is kid and pet friendly, so bring the whole family.
