A Union Grove man facing charges related to a deadly assault Monday in northern Iredell County was ordered held without bond.

Pierson Worth Colbert, 22, was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with the death of Robert John Quinn, who died shortly after Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at 315 Indian Hill Road just after 5 a.m.

After his arrest in Yadkin County, Colbert was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with homicide. A magistrate did not issue a bond on this charge.

On Tuesday, ICSO detectives served Colbert with additional warrants charging him with felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor attempted breaking and entering a residence, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor assault on a governmental official.

These charges are the result of continued investigation into the related incidents of Monday,  Campbell said in a news release Tuesday.

Colbert appeared before Magistrate Nethken on these new warrants. Nethken issued no bond on these additional charges. The suspect was also served with one outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in court, along with outstanding probation violations. His bond was set at $210,000 for these violations.

According to the ICSO, Colbert’s criminal record includes the following charges: misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor larceny, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing.
