EnergyUnited is committed to assisting its members, customers and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic as regular payment procedures resume following the expiration of Executive Order 142.
The electric cooperative will be offering installment billing and a repayment plan for all members with past due balances, which is currently about ten percent of all active accounts. The repayment plan enables these members to slowly repay over a nine-month period while also making payments on their current balance.
EnergyUnited will be setting up automatic payment arrangements for all accounts with past due balances, so members will not need to contact the cooperative to request an arrangement.
“We understand that many members are concerned about the expiration of this executive order, as members continue to face financial hardship due to wage reductions and job losses that have been brought on by this pandemic,” said EnergyUnited CEO Wayne Wilkins. “We want to ease these concerns by reassuring members that we are continuing to take proactive steps to ensure the delivery of safe, affordable and reliable energy.”
To further aid its members, EnergyUnited has also created a page on its website to provide a central location for our members to find helpful information on the EnergyUnited Foundation and local utility bill assistance programs that may be available in their county. This information can be found by visiting energyunited.com/assistance.
