Iredell-Statesville Schools and the Iredell County Health Department have notified parents of students at 10 district schools of positive COVID-19 test results.

The N.C. Department of Health & Human Services has classified West Iredell Middle School as the site of a COVID-19 cluster. Five staff members and two students at the school have tested positive, according to NCDHHS.

Here is a summary of last week’s parental notifications:

November 9

● Celeste Henkel Elementary: Close contacts notified.
● North Iredell Middle: No close contacts.

November 10

● Troutman Elementary: Close contacts notified.
● Troutman Middle: No close contacts.

November 12

● South Iredell High: Close contacts notified.
● Harmony Elementary: No close contacts.
● Lake Norman High: Close contacts notified.
● East Iredell Elementary: Close contacts notified.
● West Iredell Middle: No close contacts.
● Facilities and Planning (Old Murdock Road): Close contacts notified.
● North Iredell Middle: Close contacts notified.
● Troutman Elementary: Close contacts notified.

November 13

● Sharon Elementary: Close contacts notified.

Since August 10, 371 I-SS employees have quarantined. That represents 15 percent of the district’s faculty and staff. During the current school year, I-SS has had 81 positive COVID-19 cases.
