Two North Iredell High School soccer players recently signed letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level.

Matthias Moorefield will attend Montreat College and play for the Cavaliers starting in the fall of 2020. He has been accepted into the Cyber Security program.

Zachary Pope signed with Carson Newman and will begin his college soccer career in the fall. He has been accepted into the Film program.

The pair anchored the Raiders backline defense for the past three seasons, helping North Iredell to a combined record of 40-18-7 and three berths in the NCHSAA Class 3A playoffs. The Raiders notched 21 shutouts during that three-year span.

The Raiders were ranked as high as No. 2 in the Maxpreps North Carolina 3A rankings in 2019.
