A verified gang members who was wanted for drug and gun charges faces new charges after he was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies following a traffic stop.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Jason Todd Mullen, 35, of Taylorsville in a news release on Monday afternoon.

Deputies assigned to the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team stopped a Toyota Tacoma on Highway 115 at the intersection of Scotts Creek Road for a traffic violation on Saturday, November 21, Campbell said.

While speaking to Mullen, who was driving the Tacoma, the deputies learned he did not have a valid driver’s license and then received consent to search the vehicle, according to the news release.

During a search of the car, the deputies located a concealed weapon, more than one ounce of crystal methamphetamine and marijuana, along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia associated with the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, Campbell said.

Mullen had an outstanding arrest warrant from Lincoln County for possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, being a habitual felon, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. He was also wanted by Cleveland County for a felony breaking and entering.

Mullen was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine by possession, felony trafficking methamphetamine by transport, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony maintain a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, and driving while license revoked.

Mullen appeared before Magistrate Hollar, who issued a $350,000 secured bond on the Iredell charges. He also issued $55,000 bonds on the outstanding arrest warrants.

According to the ICSO, Mullen’s criminal history includes the following charges: Felony Breaking and Entering, Misdemeanor Larceny, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, Four Counts of Felony Break or Enter Motor Vehicle, DWI Level 2, Two Counts of Driving While License Revoked, Misdemeanor Assault, Misdemeanor Defrauding an Alcohol Screening Device, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Injury to Real Property, Two Counts of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, Felony Escape Local Jail, Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.

Mullen is a verified Bound For Glory Gang member by the N.C. Department of Adult Corrections. He is currently on probation for escape from jail by a felon, and felony larceny of a motor vehicle.
