Iredell County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies were dispatched to 121 Houston Road on Monday, June 1, for a reported breaking and entering after workers discovered someone had gained access to the property by cutting through the fence.

Once inside the fencing, the perpetrators proceeded to break into multiple vehicles, two machine shops, and an enclosed trailer on the property, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.

Numerous items were stolen, including various tools, equipment, copper pipe and tubing, Campbell said.

ICSO detectives found evidence showing the suspects accessed the Dominion Energy property by passing through the property of Exit 42 Self-Storage from a nearby construction site, according to the news release.

During the course of the investigation, detectives received information about a possible suspect vehicle found abandoned at the scene of another breaking and entering in the Town of Mooresville, Campbell said.

Detectives responded to that location and found several items that had been stolen from Dominion Energy inside the abandoned vehicle, according to the news release.

Additional evidence obtained by detectives helped them identify Timothy Dillon West, 28, and Heather Nicole Readling, 29, both of Mooresville, as suspects in this case.

Arrest warrants were obtained charging West and Readling with four counts of felony break or enter a motor vehicle, two counts of felony breaking and entering, two counts of misdemeanor first-degree trespass, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony breaking and entering to a trailer.

Readling was arrested on Tuesday, June 9, and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. She was issued a $25,000 secured bond on these charges by Magistrate Thompson. Readling also received a $20,000 secured bond on outstanding charges from Mooresville Police Department of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of felony conspiracy, and two counts of felony possession of stolen goods.

West was arrested on Sunday, June 14. He taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was served with his warrants and placed under a $75,000 secured bond by Magistrate Nethken.

West and Readling have been identified as suspects in several other ongoing investigations throughout Iredell County and more charges are expected to follow once the investigations are complete, Campbell said.
