At the GFWC of NC Statesville Woman’s Club January meeting, clubwomen displayed their visual art, crafts, and photography during the annual Arts Festival.

The winners were:

♦ Crafts, Paper – Beth Webb
Crafts, Open Category – Beth Webb
Oil Painting – Susie Byrd
Watercolor Painting – Susie Byrd

Photography “The World In Pictures” first place winners:

Living Things – Lee Ann Sherrill;
Scenes – Rita Tondo; and
Still Life – Lee Ann Sherrill.

These winners will now go on to District II competition, on Saturday, February 15, in Morganton.

The GFWC-NC Statesville Woman’s Club’s Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship competition took place prior to the Festival. Jaden Moore from the Collaborative College for Leadership and Technology was winner of the $1,000 award. Jaden is from Statesville and the son of Joseph Moore and Sherry Moore. He will also compete on February 15 for the Sallie Southall Cotten District II Scholarship.
