Special to Iredell Free News

Paumac Tubing LLC, headquartered in Marysville, Mich., and operating a second manufacturing facility in Statesville was recently recognized by Yamaha Motor Corporation as a recipient of their prestigious Excellence in Theoretical Value Production Award.

Paumac Tubing was one of five global supply partners to be recognized at the Yamaha Motor Company Global Supplier Conference and the first award recipient in North America.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s awards were presented via a video message and an award presented locally by Yamaha executives.

Takahiro Imanishi, president of Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Company (YMMC), and Wayne Pierce, YMMC vice president of Supply Chain Management, presented the award to Norm MacDonald, president and owner of Paumac Tubing, who received the award on behalf of the entire Paumac team.

The basic principle of Theoretical Value Production is thinking about what is the absolute theoretical best that can be achieved. It’s very much a part of manufacturing operations but it can be applied to logistics, product design, energy usage, and process design. YMC has approximately 416 companies globally that have embraced the TVP methodology. The number of participating supply partners continues to grow as TVP improvement philosophies expand within YMC’s North American supply base.

Paumac Tubing LLC was founded in 2004 by Norman and Deborah MacDonald. Paumac’s core competencies include close tolerance tube bending, end-forming, cutting, robotic welding and powder coat paint finishing. Paumac’s customer base includes OEM heavy truck, bus, agricultural, forestry and power sport manufacturers.
