FROM STAFF REPORTS

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell on Thursday announced the arrests of 10 individuals on various narcotics charges.

Deputies are searching for three additional suspects who are wanted on drug charges.

“In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is still dedicated to actively targeting and proactively arresting drug dealers here in Iredell County,” Campbell said in a news release.

“We know by driving down the availability of illegal narcotics, we have an impact on other types of crimes. Because of Covid, and out of an abundance of safety for our Detention Center staff members, we are not able to conduct our spring and fall suspect round-ups,” the sheriff added. “This does not mean we have stopped arresting individuals however.”

These suspects were arrested in November and December as part of the ongoing drug investigations throughout Iredell County.

“These suspect either sold directly to an undercover detective or arranged the sale of a controlled substance to an undercover detective. These suspects are drug dealers,” Campbell said. “If you have a problem with being addicted to drugs, please contact our agency and we will assist you in getting assistance.”
