The General Federation of Woman’s Club of North Carolina (GFWC of NC) Statesville Woman’s Club held their October meeting on Thursday, October 7, meeting at their historic clubhouse with guest speaker Susan Tolle from Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention of Central Piedmont Chapter. She shared that suicide numbers have come down and that North Carolina’s numbers have gone down three years in a row.

Special recognition was shown to Boys and Girls Clubs of the Piedmont – Statesville; Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County and Rainbow Kidz; and Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention of Central Piedmont Chapter. Club President Dana White presented each of these three organizations with proceeds of the club’s annual geranium sale.

The next club meeting will be held on Thursday, November 4, and will be a planning meeting for future club projects. There will be a time of social fellowship at 11:30 a.m. and meeting at 12 noon.
