The Troutman Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred during an altercation between a skateboarder and the occupant of a vehicle on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to the parking lot at 514 North Main Street for a reported stabbing, according to an SPD news release.

Officers who arrived on the scene determined that a skateboarder and the occupant of a vehicle had a verbal altercation that escalated into physical violence, police said.

The subject who was stabbed sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused transport to a medical center, according to the news release.
