School Resource Officer

The Troutman Police Department is accepting applications for a (School Resource Officer) Patrol Officer.

Hiring Range: $42,025.00 – $ 65,000.00 (Plus Holiday Pay). Salary within hiring range will be determined based on starting pay, verifiable work experience, qualifications, college degree and CJ Standards Certificates.

General Statement of Duties: The school resource officer’s responsibilities include developing the best safety procedures for potential threats in the school, conducting drills with students and staff, breaking up fights, and de-escalating aggression between students and between students and teachers, and teach DARE curriculum. The school resource officer is the main security resource of the school and is a certified police officer.

Required Experience and Training: High School Diploma or GED, Valid NC Driver’s license and successful completion of a course in Basic Law Enforcement Training certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission; prior law enforcement experience is preferred.

TPD Records Specialist/Evidence Tech & Passport Agent

The Troutman Police Department is accepting applications for a Police Records Specialist/Evidence Tech & Passport Agent.

Application Dates: 07/13/2021 to 07/23/2021.

Hiring Range: $29,000.00 – $ 38,000.00 (Plus Holidays). Salary within hiring range will be determined based on starting pay, verifiable work experience, qualifications.

The Town of Troutman offers an attractive benefit package consisting of medical, dental, vision, 401K local government retirement, and supplemental benefits.

General Statement of Duties: Provides administrative support work in case preparations, organization, filing, fingerprinting, and long-term storage within the Police Department. Also, performs all duties associated with processing, a person’s paperwork and collecting appropriate fees, and mailing all documents by appropriate methods to the Passport acceptance facility for processing.

Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years administrative support experience including data entry, law enforcement support activities or related functions, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Special Requirements: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License, DCI certified or ability to obtain, Passport Acceptance Agent certified, or ability to obtain
