The EnergyUnited Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to A Storehouse for Jesus of Mocksville to provide food for families and individuals in need.

A Storehouse for Jesus is an independent, nonprofit, Christian ministry that has been serving the Davie County community since 1993. The organization’s mission is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those they serve.

“Our services are offered free of charge for all clients thanks to our incredible staff of volunteers,” said Debbie Crutchfield, executive director of A Storehouse for Jesus. “We have been blessed for nearly 30 years with many faithful volunteers and donors like the EnergyUnited Foundation.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation provides support for nonprofits that offer essential resources and services for communities within the cooperative’s service area.

“We are proud to support A Storehouse for Jesus with this grant,” said Debra Citta, administrator of the EnergyUnited Foundation. “Our communities have faced many challenges over the last two years, and we have relied heavily on key community partners like A Storehouse for Jesus to help meet the most basic needs in each county that we serve.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation is a member-funded nonprofit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. Nearly 90,000 EnergyUnited members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. Each of these small contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the EnergyUnited Foundation to support needy individuals, families, and essential nonprofit organizations that complete an application explaining the reason and purpose for their requested grant.
