Iredell County health officials reported four more deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Tuesday as the Centers for Disease Control reported improvement in two key metrics.

With the most recent deaths, a total of 394 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 have lost their lives in Iredell County since the onset of the pandemic nearly two years ago.

The Iredell County reported 151 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 45,096 cases.

According to the CDC, Iredell remains a high-transmission area with a seven-day positivity rate of 35.34 percent. That figure down from 41 percent a week ago.

Seventy-two people who have tested positive for COVID-19 are currently hospitalized in Iredell County, a number that is down from 102 on Friday.

The CDC reported that 52.08 percent of the ICU beds in Iredell were in use Monday, down from 62 percent a week ago.
