Iredell Museums will present the second installment of its lecture series Our Region Our History on Thursday, February 17.

Skip McCall

Christopher “Skip” McCall will discuss “Growing up while Black in Iredell County” at Iredell Museums during the program, which begins at 6:30 p.m. He will share his experiences growing up in the Statesville area during segregation and the Civil Rights era.

McCall is a community leader and former president of the Statesville Branch NAACP. He serves the community in various capacities to improve the quality of life for all people in the community.

This event is free to the public with a suggested $5 to $10 donation. The event is made possible thanks to the support of the National Endowment for the Humanities and North Carolina Humanities.

Iredell Museums is located at 134 Court Street in Statesville.
