Four individuals suspected of breaking into Flow Toyota and stealing four vehicles are in custody following an investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.

The Statesville Police Department announced the arrest of Jamarion Maliki Jones, 18, of Winston- Salem and three juvenile suspects in a news release Thursday.

About 2:12 a.m. on November 15, N.C. Highway Patrol troopers located an abandoned 2020 Ford Mustang that had been involved in a crash on Interstate 40 east.

Troopers began investigating the crash and located paperwork from Flow Toyota in the vehicle. The SPD was contacted and responded to Flow Toyota, where officers located an open door to the business and several key fobs on the lobby floor.

After a representative of Flow Toyota arrived at the scene, officers reviewed video surveillance that showed four suspects enter the business, according to the news release. The suspects located the key fobs and stole a 2021 Dodge Charger, 2023 Toyota Corolla, 2023 Toyota Tacoma and the 2020 Ford Mustang located by NCHSP, police said.

The suspects arrived at Flow Toyota in a white Cadillac SUV that was reported stolen in Winston-Salem, according to the news release.

At 9 a.m. SPD received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Best Western on Morland Drive. Officers arrived on scene, where they found the stolen Dodge Charger, police said.

Investigators began reviewing video footage from the motel and observed the suspects arrive in the parking lot with the stolen vehicles before leaving the Dodge Charger behind.

Investigators returned to Flow Toyota and were able to track the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Tacoma to locations in Winston-Salem, according to the news release.

The Winston-Salem Police Department was contacted and their officers went to both locations in Winston- Salem and recovered the stolen Toyota Tacoma and the Toyota Corolla. They were also able to recover the stolen Cadillac SUV.

During the investigation, investigators learned of a breaking and entering in Yadkinville, where a pawn shop had been broken into and numerous firearms were stolen. While reviewing the video from the pawn shop breaking and entering, investigators determined the suspects were the same suspects that stole the vehicles from Flow Toyota, police said.

Working with Winston-Salem police, SPD investigators were able to identify all four subjects responsible for breaking into Flow Toyota and the pawn shop in Yadkinville, according to the news release.

On November 16, the Winston-Salem police personnel executed search warrants on some of the suspects’ residences. They were able to locate items tying the suspects to the crimes and recovered several firearms, according to the news release.

Later that day the Winston-Salem officers arrested three of the suspects at Hanes Mall. At the time of the arrests, all of the suspects were armed with a firearm, police said The fourth suspect was arrested later in a stolen vehicle.

Three of the suspects are juveniles and their names are not being released at this time.

Jones has been charged with numerous charges, ranging from breaking and entering to larceny of firearms. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.

SPD will charge all four suspects with three counts of breaking and entering, and four counts of larceny of motor vehicle, according to the news release.

All four stolen vehicles were recovered and have been returned to Flow Toyota.

The SPD expressed its appreciation for the assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department, Yadkinville Police Department, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the State Bureau of Investigation and the N.C. Highway Patrol for their assistance in this investigation.
