Farrel Reed Rasnick, 72, of Statesville, N.C., died Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House.

He was born in Virginia on March 29, 1947, to the late Delmar Rasnick and Elizabeth Sutherland Rasnick.

Farrel owned and operated Reeds Quality Painting for 30 years and painted many homes and commercial properties. He loved the outdoors especially spending time at his cabin in Virginia. He also loved traveling and jet skiing. Farrel had also served his country in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Farrah Rasnick Wise and husband Stephen Marc Wise of Cherryville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Ethan Farrell Wise and Jace Kendall Wise; a brother, Dean Rasnick of Virginia; and three sisters, Beatrice Oberle, Charlene Rasnick and Patsy Gibson, all of Virginia.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites. The family will visit with friends Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 4 to p.m.
