Mrs. Karen McLelland Collins, 65, of St. Mary’s, Ga., and formerly of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Mrs. Collins was born May 23, 1954, in Iredell County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Henry D. McLelland and Karee “Peggy” Hoover Laws. She was a graduate of South Iredell High School and on January 21, 1984, she married Tommy D. Collins, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kayla Collins Nelson of Midway, Ga.; a granddaughter, Breighlynne Nelson of Midway, Ga.; stepmother, Joann Caldwell McLelland of Statesville; and one brother, Michael Lail of Statesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Collins and Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home before the funeral service.

Active pallbearers will be Dan McLelland, Parks Collins, Andrew Collins, Danny Collins, Hal Sherrill and Mark Collins.
