Philip Tice Albert, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at his residence.

He was born on April 1, 1936, in Middletown, N.Y., to the late James and Laura Tice Albert. Mr. Albert was a veteran serving proudly in the U.S. Navy. He was an active Boy Scout leader in Sussex County, N.J., for many years.

A resident of North Carolina for the past 20 years, he served as president of the board of Oak Tree Village and was a member of the Central Lake Norman Golden Boys. His family was the most important to him. He was always active in his son’s lives and coaching their little league baseball teams. He was an avid golfer, member of a sport shooting club, enjoyed square dancing with his wife, and for many years sang tenor in a Barbershop Quartet.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth, Virginia, Jeanette and Henrietta; and an infant brother.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kathryn Gelone Albert; sons, Ronald Albert, Michael Albert and wife Paula, Gary Albert and wife Amber, Chris Albert and wife Donna; grandchildren, Sam, Jack, Tice, Mellissa; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. with a service following at 1:30 p.m. at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville.
