Mr. Marvin Sanford “Sandy” Cline Jr., 78, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020, at Forsyth Regional Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Sandy was born April 5, 1941, in Davie County and was the son of the late Marvin Sanford Cline Sr. and Dottie Rupard Cline. He attended Davie County schools and on September 15, 1961, he married Ann Cartner Cline. He was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and worked for Davie Auto Parts/ O’Reilly Auto Parts. Sandy was a jack of all trades. He loved helping others, working on antique tractor restoration, and was a founder of the Old Time Tractor Pull Association (OTTPA). He loved camping and especially his family.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by a son, Marty S. Cline of Statesville; two grandchildren, Mary Hannah Cline of Longmont, Colo., and Jack Cline of Hickory; one brother, Flake Cline of Mocksville; two sisters, Nora Latham of Mocksville and Peggy Angell of Manteo; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Clarksbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service.
