Billy Holdsclaw, 84, of Statesville, N.C., died Friday, January 1, 2021, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rowan County, N.C., on March 4, 1936, to the late Purtle Holdsclaw and Mary Jane Lyttle Holdsclaw. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lippard Holdsclaw.

Billy served in the U.S. Army in Alaska from February 14, 1955, to February 3, 1958. He was extremely proud of his service to our country. He always took pride in his yard and keeping his vehicles clean. He loved woodworking, fishing, taking long walks in the woods and feeding the birds and squirrels. Billy had a 1972 Pontiac that he loved to drive.

Those left to cherish his memory are a stepdaughter, Cammie Moose (Billy); four stepsons, Roy Crouch Jr., Ronnie Crouch (Vickie), Steve Crouch (Jackie), and Vic Crouch; a special nephew Shannon Holdsclaw (Sarah) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great greatgrandchildren. He also leaves behind his black cat, Frisky.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 12 noon at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends at Nicholson Funeral Home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
