Carrie Edith Powell Lewis, 95, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at The Citadel of Mooresville. She was born on July 13, 1925, in Clarkton, N.C., to the late Daniel and Bertha Townsend Powell.

Mrs. Lewis was retired from Uniglass Industries in Statesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther B. Morrow and Matthew James Lewis.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Morrow Freeze, and Carl Daniel Lewis; sister, Rae Johnson (Jim); grandchildren, Woody Freeze (Elisa), Millette Mills (Craig), Alex Freeze (April), Austin Lewis, and Whitney Lewis; great-grandchildren, Logan Overcash (Shayna), Spencer Overcash, Will Freeze, Rebecca Freeze, Eli Freeze, Landry Freeze, Davis Freeze, Katelyn Mills, and Trey Mills; and great-great-grandson, Memphis Overcash.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Gipe and Rev. Woody Freeze officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
