Mr. Coy Lee Speaks, 93, of Harmony, N.C., died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Rosewood Assisted Living in Harmony. Born in Iredell County on November 4, 1927, he was a son of the late Alvin Speaks and Georgeanna Mahaffey Speaks.

Mr. Speaks was a supervisor in the furniture manufacturing industry. He enjoyed gardening, working, cutting wood and hunting with his sons and grandsons. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Goodin Speaks on July 25, 2013.

Survivors include three sons, Roger Speaks (Cathy), C.L. Speaks (Trisha), and Jeff Speaks; and three daughters, Shirley McCollum (Harvey), Elaine Fulp (Roy) and Patsy York (Emory). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Family graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday at Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Blackburn officiating.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Rosewood for their caring and dedicated care and to Texie Blackburn of Hospice of Iredell for her loving care.
