George Winston Sproul Sr., 72, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born on November 13, 1948, in Mooresville to the late Donald Charles and Beatrice Overcash Sproul.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Reggie Grady and Donnie Sproul.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Meadows Sproul; three sons, George Winston Sproul Jr. (Julie), Brian Sproul (Gina), and Brandon Sproul (Charles Ashe); five grandchildren, Winston Seth, Mikayla, Spencer, Logan, and Kenadi Sproul; one great-grandchild, Annabelle Rosalie Deneault; brother, Lannie Sigmon (Carolyn); and sister, Brenda Carpenter (Dave).

He worked at Ingersoll Rand, Picker International and American Family Homes. He was a disabled veteran having served two years in the U.S. Army. He attended Mooresville Senior High and Troutman School.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, with Chaplain Stephen Vance officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Heritage House.

Burial with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Salisbury National Cemetery.
