Harold Linwood Huffman, 78, of Statesville, N.C., passed away May 18, 2021. He was born June 1, 1942, in Sweet Springs, W.Va., the son of the late Beryle Lee Huffman and Martha H. Andrews Huffman. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Alice Lee Wayling.

Harold spent his life devoted to the betterment of the working class and was in service for 28 years with multiple labor unions as an International Representative. He ended his career with the United Steel Workers and was Vice President for the AFL-CIO in North Carolina for two years. Harold was active in the Shriners, loved to travel, and enjoyed playing poker, and his sense of humor made him friends everywhere he went. He loved his family and will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 25 years, Angela Huffman; son, Timothy Wayne Huffman and wife Anne; brother, Richard Franklyn Huffman; stepchildren, Jessica Stroud and husband Joshua; step grandchildren, “Bub” Stroud, Destiney and her husband Timmy Williams; step great grandchildren, Lillian Rose and Jasper Lynn Williams; and numerous other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Nicholson Funeral Home, 135 E. Front Street, Statesville, N.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, N.C.
