Henry Thomas “H.T.” Hall Jr., 89, of Woodleaf, N.C., passed away in the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

H.T. was born October 1, 1932, in Rowan County to the late Henry Thomas Hall Sr. and Minnie Lippard Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 46 years, Johnsie Pinkston Hall. Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by his daughter, Twyla Elizabeth Hall; his siblings: Kathryn Hall Deal, Edith Hall Waller, Henrietta Hall Powell, and Wayne Lippard Hall.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Sarah Pinkston Hall, whom he married on January 24, 2005. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Gladys Webb Hall of Woodleaf, along with his step-daughter, Sharon McFadden (Richard); two step-grandchildren, Cayla Earnhardt and Daniel Earnhardt; five step-great-grandchildren; and eleven nieces and nephews.

Educated in Rowan County schools, he graduated from Woodleaf High School, Class of 1951. He was voted “Most Courteous.”

Mr. Hall loved bird hunting and spent many hours training his beloved bird dogs. In later years, H.T. spent time at the beach with his nephew fishing for King Mackerel off the Oak Island Pier.

H.T. opened Hall Manufacturing in 1958 to make frames for furniture. The business is still in operation today creating frames. However, H.T. spent his retirement years in his personal shop creating unique and beautifully crafted pieces of furniture. He was a perfectionist when it came to his woodworking. He was an active member at Woodleaf United Methodist Church, a member of the Scotch-Irish Fire Department, and he was involved in several clubs and community activities.

H.T. was a man that impacted many lives, and he will be missed by all that knew him and loved him. A graveside service for Mr. Hall will be held Monday, October 25, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Woodleaf United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Smith officiating.
