Kay Frances Taylor Edmiston, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her residence. Born February 1, 1947, in Salisbury, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Adam O’Neal Taylor and Allie Goodman Taylor.

Mrs. Edmiston was a retired secretary for N.C. Vocational Rehabilitation after 30 years of service. After retirement, Mrs. Edmiston took great joy in caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing and cross stitch. She was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church, Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Taylor Eagle; and a brother, Jerry Taylor.

Mrs. Edmiston is survived by her husband, Dan L. Edmiston; children, Jack Edmiston of Troutman and Karen Edmiston Cornett (Nick) of Statesville; brother, Mike Taylor of Salisbury; sister, Phoebe Taylor Nunn (Marvin) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Samuel and Charleston Cornett; brother-in-law, Glen Eagle of Salisbury; brother-in-law, Bob Edmiston (Mary Beth) of Mt. Ulla; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mooresville, with Rev. Will Gipe officiating. The family is asking that everyone please practice social distancing and wear mask.
