Mary Pauline Maness Anthony, 97, long-time resident of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at her residence. She was born on February 26, 1923, in Moore County, N.C., to the late Frank and Edith Brewer Maness.
Mrs. Anthony was retired from Belk Department Store and a member of First Baptist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Anthony.
She is survived by her children, Frank Anthony (Lynn), and Sandra Ferguson (Barry); grandchildren, Ryan Anthony (Tash Coronell), and Will Ferguson (fiancée, Jodie Law); and great granddaughter, Kayla Coronell.
A Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, with Dr. Jerry L. Cloninger Jr. officiating. Sandra and Frank, I must tell you how many wonderful memories I have of your mother (& dad). Polly worked with Mother, & your parents & mine were friends & members of FBC. I loved them both dearly. Your mother’s sweet voice & smile, her kind words, as well as her love for others & her sweet spirit displayed a shining example of how a lovely Christian lady should be. I am sorry for your loss.
