Nancy Duncan Hartness, 82, our beautiful mother and grandmother, crossed over on Saturday, July 3, 2021, after an extended illness from Alzheimer’s. She was born August 19 , 1938, to the late John and Tressie Duncan. Nancy was married to Billy Ray Hartness for 62 years. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2017.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life a son, Sandy Ray (Norman Jean); a daughter, Becky Hartness (Tim); two grandchildren, Justin Hartness (Tristen) and Samantha Laws (Brandon); a God granddaughter, Jackie Moose (Cody); and six great great grandchildren, Preston, Bailey, Lacie, Brody, and Copper.
She will fondly be remembered by many of her peers at JC Penny, having been over the men’s department for over 20 years. For those who knew her, there will be a forever void. Her love for others was endless.
A graveside service will be held at Rocky Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday July 7, 2021, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Henry Cook will officiate. No formal visitation will be held.
