Shirley Mentoria Campbell Dunn was born on August 16, 1956, to the late Eark F. and Annie Campbell Ross. She sweetly closed her eyes and her gentle heart stopped beating on October 10, 2021, at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, N.C. She didn’t have time to say goodbye to her loved ones; her departure was at hand. As she slipped away, she waved, “I’m headed to that Promised Land!”

She leaves to forever cherish her memories three sons, Raymond (Rosè) Campbell of Willow Springs, Jonathan Dunn of the home, and Joshua (Kyah) Dunn of Statesville; one daughter, Jessica Dunn of Georgia; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Marvin (Marilyn) Campbell of Siler City and Jackie Ross of Lillington; two sisters, Gwendolyn Ross and Vida Ross, both of Lillington; four aunts, Pearlie Ray, Frances McKoy, Ruby McLean and Vera McKinnon, all of Lillington; two uncles, Devon McKinnon of Broadway and Thurston Campbell Sr. of Lillington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, N.C., on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
