Mr. Darnell Franklin Allison, 43, who was affectionately known as “Don,” was born in Mecklenburg County, N.C., on May 31, 1978, to Sharon “Dianne” Allison. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tony Allison; and three uncles, Ronnie E. Allison, Tony “Curtis” Allison, and James “Stan” Allison.

Darnell attended Iredell County schools and graduated from North Iredell High School in 1996. He attended Mitchell Community College for Business Management and served in the United States Army. Darnell was an Oakland Raiders football fan, and he loved vintage cars like his uncle Stan. He was employed as a Quality Control engineer at William T. Burnett & Co. and Fast Phil’s Convenience Stores. Darnell loved his family and will truly be missed.

Darnell leaves to cherish the memory of his life his mother, Diane Allison of the home; three children, Preston Allison (Jasmine), Tyrek McClelland (Imiraca), and Arianna Allison; one granddaughter, Emerald; his maternal grandmother, Rachel E. Allison; two aunts, Debra A. (Robert) Daniels and Sonja A. Smith; two uncles, Donnie E. (Bonnie) Allison, and Robert Wayne (Terica Donnell) Allison; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham funeral home at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Mr. Allison will only be viewed by his mother and three children. Burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery.
