Helen Faye Sloan Lindsey, 89, walked into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Helen was born December 1, 1932, to the late Ivy Lee and Pearlie Mae Sloan.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Carl Lindsey (Ed); sons, Ronald Lee and Carl Michael (Mike); five brothers, Harold and Ralph Sloan (twins), Ivy Sloan (Jack), Clifford Sloan, Lester Sloan (Bill); and five sisters; Gladys Jones, Geneva Ball, Hester Stroud, Annie Allgood, and Shelby Hayes.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Judy Teaster (Ralph); grandson Brandon Teaster; and great granddaughter, Lindsey Teaster.

Helen was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until health issues kept her from being able to attend. She loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great granddaughter, age 2, who always gave her hugs and kisses and talked to her every morning. She was the love and sunshine of her day.

The family would like to thank friends and family for prayers, especially Linda Harris, Shelby Cresimore, and Willa Dean Morrow for their visits, phone calls, and love during this time. Also a special thank you to Lorrie and Angela and the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022, at New Bethany Baptist Church from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of Iredell County and New Bethany Baptist Church.
