Mr. Jerry Lee Williams, 69, was born in Catawba County on May 28, 1952. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at his residence, 311 Vance Street, Statesville, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Manual Williams, and Annie Mae Chambers. His wife, Bernice Smyre; two brothers, Timothy Williams, and Ernest Williams; and one sister, Shirley Williams, also preceded him in death.

He worked as a truck driver with the City of Hickory, in Hickory, N.C.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life his children, Carlos (Margaret) Templeton, Chandis Hunt, India (Cavario) Hunt, and Rhonda (Curley) Horne; five brothers, Carl Williams, Joe Williams, James Williams, Robert McKinstry, and Ernest Howard; a special friend, Jessie Jackson; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Wesley Gatewood and Tony Gatewood; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville, at 1:30 p.m., with Bishop Ronnie Jackson delivering the eulogy, and Paul Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
