Joann Oglesby, 75, passed away February 21, 2022, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was born December 7, 1946, to Joe Henry Holland and Delaney Rucker Holland in Hartwell, Ga.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Delaney Holland; son, Travis Oglesby; brother, James Holland; granddaughter, Tyesha Oglesby; and nephew James Bellamy Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Catherine Oglesby (Rickie), Teresa Oglesby (Von), and Angela Oglesby; her grandchildren, Marcus Oglesby (Ashley), Shannell Murphy (Wesley), Mildred Wilson (Tony), Andre Oglesby, Tevon Turner, Shanequa Oglesby, and Danielle Oglesby (Joseph); as well as her siblings, Mary Lois Sharpe, Scott Holland (Josette), Faye Mason, and Patricia Bellamy; daughter-in-law, Melicia Oglesby; and special friend of Travis and mother of his children, Ann Meadows. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews.

Joann was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with friends and family. Joann was also member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Elberton, Ga.

Services are to be held at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Friends are invited for a lie-in-state from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a visitation from 1:30 to 2 p.m., and funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Belmont Cemetery. Services will be led by Pastor James Williams.
