Lois Mae Ruckman Tucker, 84, of Statesville, N.C., and formerly of Hartville, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Lois is rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved husband, Ed.

Born in Akron, Ohio, August 18, 1934, to Claude E. Ruckman and Mary Carson Ruckman, she graduated from Akron Central High School after marrying Ed at age 16.

Lois was a sweet saint who adapted to whatever life held. After losing her father at age 11, she helped raise her three siblings. She followed Ed in his many professions and life adventures, always his loving support. She was a gifted encourager, making calls, sending cards, books and music to family, friends and strangers she met.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ed, on January 3, 2019; brothers, David Ruckman and Richard Ruckman; and sister, Patricia Murdock.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Kevin (Kim) Tucker and Dave (Cindy) Tucker; daughters, Sherry Howell and Shelley Rice; grandchildren, Katy Tucker, Luke (Brianna) Tucker, Joanna (Aaron) Tucker Mounts, Josh (Hanna Rice, Jenna (Jacob) Wilson, Nate Rice, Even and Andrew Conley; great-grandchildren, Isabella Tucker, Nolan Rice, Peyton, Paige and Conner Mounts and soon-to-be born Oliver Finn; sister-in-law Janet Ruckman; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. A special thank you to her loving caregivers, Debbie and Angie.

There are no current plans for a service. If so led, please donate in her memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, One Music Circle S, Suite, 230, Nashville, TN 37203.
