Ms. Sandra Kaye Carruth, 54, of 1218 Lerain Court, Statesville, N.C., was born in Iredell County on December 22, 1967, and was the daughter of the late J. C. Carruth and Virginia Mae Woods Carruth. She departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2022, at her home.

She was a graduate of Statesville High School and Gardner Webb University. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Judy C. Hunter, Tracy Carruth, Pamela C. Bellamy and Carolyn C. Turner; a brother, Michael Carruth; aunts, Alberta Carruth, Louise C. Nesbit and Mary Helen C. Morrison; and grandparents, Roy and Ritchie Mae Minor Carruth.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her step-mother, Mamie Carruth of Statesville; four brothers, James Carruth, Russel Carruth and Ricky Summers, all of Statesville, and Danny Carruth of Nebo; a sister, Virginia C. Roberts of Winston-Salem; aunts, Ella C. Davis and Elllene Carruth, both of Queens, N.Y., and Maxine Knox of Statesville; uncles, Roy L. Carruth and Wade (Rachel) Knox, both of Statesville, Bill (Darlene) Carruth and Harry Carruth, both of Troutman, and Bobby Morrison Sr. of Salisbury; a step sister, Veneta Cowan of Rowan County; six step brothers, Andra Cowan, Ashley Cowan, Ruben Cowan and Jerome Cowan, all of Rowan County, Ezra Cowan of South Carolina, and Chavis (Laura) Cowan of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Dr. C. Randy Minor will officiate. Ms. Carruth will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. They will assemble at the residence at other times.
