Shirley Johnson Stewart, 84, of Statesville, N.C., went to her heavenly home on February 10, 2022. She was born on June 21, 1937, to the late Ross and Janie Byers Johnson.

Shirley enjoyed reading, sewing, taking care of her rose bushes and baking homemade pound cakes for family birthdays, special friends and church events. She enjoyed spending times with her grandchildren and loved the beach trips that she went on with them. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Catawba, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Foy Johnson and Harold Johnson; sister, Linda Woodside; and brother-in-law, Johnnie Walls.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Neil; daughters, Patricia Parker (Mike) and Lori Wilson (Randy); grandchildren, Aaron Parker and Tara Everett (Dawson); and great-granddaughter, Harper Everett. She is also survived by brothers, Melvin Johnson (Elaine), Steven Johnson (Brenda), and Carol Johnson; sister, Donna Walls; brother-in-law, Wayne Woodside; sister-in-law Jeanie Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Providence Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family requests that masks be worn and all Covid protocols be followed.
