Steven Lee Lambert, 71, of Statesville, N.C., died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Ashe County, N.C., on January 20, 1951, to the late Paul E. Lambert and Mable Marie Eldreth Lambert. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jennie L. Christopher.

Steve was a certified water treatment technician for over 50 years. He always like to be busy doing some kind of work even after his retirement. He loved to fish, especially in the ocean, enjoyed planning and going on family vacations, and in earlier years enjoyed flying model airplanes. Steve was an avid history buff.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 50 years, Martha Ketchie Lambert; two daughters, Pat Blackburn and husband Jonathan, and Stephanie Keller and husband Donald; a grandson, Wil Blackburn; a brother, Sterling Lambert; a sister, Donna Huggins; niece, Crystal Christopher; and nephew, Eric Lambert.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Calahaln Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hedgecock and Rev. Carroll Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Society Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
