Sue Hollowell Perry, 88, of Mooresville, N.C., passed over to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 12, 2022, joining her beloved husband of 55 years, Ted Radiley Perry.

Born July 22, 1933 in Ryland, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Baker Miles and Ella Mae Hollowell. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mooresville and formerly a long-time member of Deer Park Baptist Church in Newport News, Va., where she taught preschoolers in Sunday School, sang in the Adult Choir, and was an active part of the bus ministry.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by baby boy Perry; sisters, Ruth Rae Taylor, Nellie Baker Frank, and Lois Hope West.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her children, Gregory Ted Perry and wife Gloria of Caroline County, Va., and Pamela Sue Perry Hicks and husband Eddie of Mooresville; sisters, Betty Jean Gazurek of Grafton, Va., Rose Marie Winslow of Gates, N.C., and Annie Faye Bunch and husband Malcolm of Suffolk, Va.; and brother, Baker M. Hollowell and wife Judy of Newport News, Va.. Mrs. Perry was memaw to four wonderful grandchildren, Melissa Noel Anderson and husband Mark, Adam Gregory Perry and wife Lacy, Ashton Sue Hicks, and Perry Edward Hicks. She was great grandma to Mark Wayne Anderson III (Trip), Radiley Austin Anderson, Oscar Rowe Anderson, Levi Edward Anderson, Elijah Adam Perry, and Noella Grace Perry; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton, Va., with Rev. Eddie Hicks and Greg Perry officiating. Burial will follow the service in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, Va. Mrs. Perry will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.
