Two individuals face felony drug charges after an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Wilkesboro Highway and Hill Dairy Road.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Skye Mashea Amber Maloney, 31, of Damascus Church Road, Statesville, and Jeffrey Thomas Bordeaux, 55, of Sienna Circle, Yadkinville, in a news release.
Deputy R. Ball, who is assigned to the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team, encountered Maloney and Bordeaux after conducting a traffic stop on a Honda Accord about 6:55 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, the sheriff said.
While interacting with Maloney, who was driving the vehicle, Deputy Ball observed suspicious behavior that raised concerns about possible illegal activity, according to the news release.
As Deputy Ball was preparing a citation for driving while license revoked, Deputy C. Wilson engaged further with Maloney and Bordeaux, the sheriff said.
During the conversation, the deputies discussed the possibility of illegal contraband being inside the vehicle. At that time, Bordeaux admitted to possessing a vape pen containing THC oil, according to the news release.
Following the issuance of the citation, deputies searched the Honda and located approximately 4.05 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia, Campbell said.
Both Maloney and Bordeaux denied ownership of the narcotics; however, since the substances were found in a location accessible to both individuals, they were placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.
They were each charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for the Use of Controlled Substances, and two misdemeanor drug offenses.
Magistrate Callejas ordered Maloney to be held without bond because she was free on bond on previous charges. Bordeaux was issued a $2,500 secured bond.
