James “Ken” Kenneth Wood, 79, of Mooresville, the C., passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, N.C.

He was born on December 5, 1945, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Hayes Wood and Margaret Kelly Wood. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He worked as an engineer before his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing and watching football and baseball on television. He also enjoyed singing karaoke, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Wood Beverly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Davis Catha-Wood; daughter, Tonya Wood; son, James Adams; sister, Charlotte Greene; grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, and Alyssa; and the love of his life, his furry best buddy, Rex.

There will be no services.
