Lemuel “Silvertop” Jeffrey Johns, 64, of Statesville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Lemuel was born in Union County, S.C., on November 11, 1960, to the late Lemuel “LC” Johns and Semi Anne Jolly Johns. He attended Horizon Church. He enjoyed many hobbies, including off-roading, hunting, fishing, and archery with his son and friends. He did many things in life, including water skiing, snow skiing and traveling, along with many other hobbies. He was a certified welder, electrician, and HVAC technician. He was a very hard worker and always carried great faith and morals. Father, husband, brother – he did it all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Johns.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Johns (Adrianna Lind) of Statesville; one brother, David Johns, and wife Crystal of Statesville; one sister, Kim Drum, and husband Michael of Statesville; one nephew, Carl Ray Proffitt; and good friend John McClean, as well as several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
