Special to IFN
It was a weekend to remember as Statesville Dance & Performing Arts celebrated its 5th Annual Recital and fifth year in business with a high-energy, neon-filled production: “Rewind to the 80’s.” Over the course of two days and four spectacular shows, more than 275 talented students lit up the stage, supported by five dedicated instructors, an incredible dance group from the Special Olympics of Iredell County, and even a few show-stopping appearances by dancing moms and dads.
The audience was transported back in time with iconic hits, glittering costumes, and throwback fashion, as many attendees joined the fun by dressing in their best 1980s attire. The recital was more than just a performance — it was a celebration of community, creativity, and five unforgettable years of dance.
“This year marks such a special milestone for us,” said Haley Price, marketing manager for Statesville Dance. “In just five years, our studio has grown beyond our wildest dreams. We’ve expanded our space, grown our dance family, and earned our place among the best in the competitive dance world. But above all, we’ve created a safe space filled with love, laughter, and learning.”
The 5th Annual Recital was the culmination of a monumental year, highlighting the hard work and passion of dancers of all ages and backgrounds. The inclusion of the Special Olympics group was a powerful reminder of the studio’s dedication to inclusivity and community outreach.
Statesville Dance extended its gratitude to the entire community of Statesville and Iredell County. From students and instructors to parents, siblings, volunteers, and fans — hundreds of individuals have played a role in shaping the studio’s vibrant, supportive atmosphere.
