Cathleen Curry Hansen, 69, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Cathleen was born May 15, 1956, in Hattiesburg, Miss., to the late B.W. Curry and Nancy Hartman Curry. She attended the University of Denver, where she received her Bachelor of Nursing degree. She volunteered for the Special Olympics and served as a coach for the International Special Olympic World Games. She loved spending time riding horseback.

Left to cherish Cathleen’s memory are her husband, Hans Hansen; daughter, Delaney Hansen; son, Chet Hansen; brothers, Burn Curry and J.R. Curry; sister, Candy Voss; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no formal services planned at this time.
