The Iredell County Public Library (ICPL) has announce the launch of its 2025 Summer Reading Program theme, “Color Our World.”

This year’s Summer Reading program invites community residents to dive into a colorful spectrum of reading and activities designed to inspire creativity and learning. The program is free to join, includes something for all ages, from infants to adults, and will include free performances, crafts and games, take-home activities, and rewards for reading.

“We were so excited when this year’s theme was announced,” said Kelli Goodwin, Youth Services manager at ICPL. “Our most important goal during the summer has always been to keep kids reading and learning while they’re out of school, and the best way to do that is to make learning fun. We’ve got an incredible lineup of events scheduled during June and July, from theatre performances to appearances by police dogs working for the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department. And that’s on top of our weekly craft programs for kids and teens!”

Summer Reading registration begins June 2. Residents can register by picking up a reading log booklet from any ICPL branch, downloading one from the library’s website, or logging their reading on the Beanstack app.

Participants in Summer Reading can earn raffle tickets by attending library programs, completing bonus activities in the reading log booklet, and submitting their reading log between July 28 and August 9. The grand prize drawing will take place on August 12, and winners will be notified by the contact information on their raffle ticket.
