Ada Wasson Bridges, 82, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C.

Ada was born on February 15, 1943, in Rowan County to the late Woodrow Wilson Wasson and Ava Beatrice Phifer Watts. She attended school through the 11th grade and worked as a skilled sewer at Janzen Textiles. She was married to the love of her life, Harry Bridges, who preceded her in death.

Ada was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kind heart, unwavering strength, and enduring love for her family touched the lives of many. Her legacy continues through the generations she helped raise and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory her nine children, Bryan Bridges (Tonica), Robin Davis, Barry Davis, Debby Davis (Derek), Perry Davis, Terry Davis, Linda Davis, Brenda Davis, and Eva Feimster; seven stepchildren, Hattie Lou Bridges, Annie Caldwell (Jimmy), Milton Bridges, Shirley Hollman, Alphennie Davis, Jarrod Davis, and James Wasson (Lisa); ten grandchildren, Dominique Boland, Brianna “Taya” Bridges, Desmond Chambers, LeBryce Bridges, JaKobe Chambers, Deborah Davis, BeNita Turner, Tomika Knight Gaston, Jasmine Knight, and Corey Davis (Laura); 24 great grandchildren, Dakota Chambers, Demetri Chambers, Dior Chambers, Camden Chambers, Leeahna Chambers, Legend Chambers, Kayla Avery (Braxton), Dorreco Davis Sr. (Keyona), Keyonta’ Caldwell, MeKiyah Muthalaly (Revel), Tamiya Gaston, Olaysia Gaston, Olajide Gaston Jr, Lariyah Washington, Aniyah Washington, Ariana Warren, Azariyah Johnson, Quadravis Parks, DaTreon Davis, Allan Reyes, Riyan Reyes, Adriana Locklear, Tiana Jones, and Diamiah Sturgis; nine great-great-grandchildren, Dorreco Davis Jr., Kaomi Davis, Harmony Muthalaly, Harlan Muthalaly, Kyson Parks, Zymier Campbell, Zoei Campbell, Khalee Jones, and Marion Jones; one sister, Glenda Wasson; a sister-in-law, Mary Lois Parker; special friends, Mary Hailey and Jenco Campbell; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary in Statesville, N.C. Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
