Special to IFN
Iredell Health System and the Iredell Physician Network have welcomed Alisia Dulaney to Iredell Psychiatry.

Dulaney earned an undergraduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill and her master’s degree in social work from Loyola University in Chicago. Her professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers, National Alliance of Mental Health, North Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work, Society for Social Worker Leadership in Health Care, National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, and the American Board of Clinical Social Work.
Dulaney brings over 20 years of experience in the medical field, 18 of which are in mental health. She is a NASW-NC board member candidate and owner of Hope Through Change Counseling, PLLC. She specializes in children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She was drawn to Iredell Health because of her alignment to its mission of providing quality care to all patients, no matter their circumstance, while being active in the community.
Dulaney has a deeply compassionate and holistic approach to patient care, prioritizing the biopsychological component of each patient.
“I believe in a patient-centered, supportive environment where individuals and families feel heard, respected, and empowered. With a strong foundation in mental health trauma-informed care and advocacy, I work to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive, personalized support. Through psychoeducation, collaboration, and empathy, I also strive to make healthcare accessible, effective, and transformative.”
New patients can expect a warm, compassionate and nonjudgmental environment where they can feel heard and supported.
“My approach is patient centered, and trauma informed. I take the time to understand each person’s unique needs, concerns, and goals. I prioritize building trust by actively listening and creating a safe space for open communication,” she said.
In her free time, Dulaney enjoys volunteering with Mecklenburg Community Church and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. She loves spending time with her family, engaging in activities such as attending concerts and gardening. She is a mother to four daughters and is a devoted UNC-Chapel Hill alum.
Her favorite healthy tip involves taking care of yourself.
“Prioritize self-care. Make time for activities for self that bring you peace, self-fulfillment, and contentment,” she said.
