Donald Andrew Stern Sr., 90, of Mount Ulla, N.C., passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was born on February 8, 1935, in Schenectady, N.Y., to the late William and Clare Rogerikiski Stern.

Mr. Stern was retired from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District then later was a custodian with Burnt Hills United Methodist Church in New York. He enjoyed camping, working in the yard and his floral garden, watching birds, old cars, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William, Tom, Michael, and Richard Stern; and sisters, Florence Sutherland and Joyce Limbert.

Mr. Stern is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janice Vander Kruik Stern; children, Donald Stern Jr. and wife Colleen, and Lori Stern; grandchildren, Tommy and Tyler Stern, Shawn McCullough, and Ashley Keatley; great grandchildren, Sloane and Callen Stern; and other family members, Tracy Stern and Michael Stern Jr.
